Job Vacancy - Chef de Partie/Commis Chef

At Clitheroe Golf Club we use fresh, locally sourced ingredients and have an excellent reputation for amazing food.

About us:

Clitheroe Golf Club was founded in 1891 in the picturesque surroundings of the Ribble Valley, Lancashire. The 18th hole facility welcomes over 700 members, visiting parties and external functions through its gates each year, where we provide an exceptional golfing and social experience.

We have a close-knit team throughout the entire venue and rarely have positions such as this come available. This is an ideal opportunity to get involved in the exclusive golf hospitality industry which is very different to the hotel and restaurant industry. A rare opportunity to have a healthier work - life balance in this industry.

The successful applicant will:

Have previous experience in a similar role
Understand and be fully knowledgeable re. HACCP, food safety, etc.
Always adhere to health and safety procedures
Support the Head Chef in the general running of the kitchen
Be proactive in inspiring for the very best at all times
Hold and undertake the same principles set out by the Head Chef & Senior management – i.e. freshly prepared food, using local, fresh ingredients.

Job Vacancy - Assistant Greenkeeper

Clitheroe GC is an 18-hole private members club, founded in 1891,  with a full and active membership of over 700 members. 

An exciting opportunity has come available for an additional Assistant Greenkeeper to join our expanding team.

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience (preferred)
• High level of competence with modern greenkeeping machinery
• Chainsaw licence (not essential)
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Be able to work to the highest standards and possess a keen attention to detail with an ability to provide the best possible playing surfaces
• Have the ability to provide input into work discussions and course development.
• Have a keen interest in ecology and sustainability management
• Excellent communication and timekeeping skills

  It is a permanent full-time position and offers a competitive salary and a range of benefits. 

Weekend and bank-holiday duties are covered on a rota and paid at overtime rates.

This James Braid designed course has been remodelled over the years to retain the risk and reward element of the design and is currently going through a complete bunker redesign programme.
Clitheroe is one of the finest inland courses in the North of England and has hosted many championship including, Regional Qualifying for the Open, The Brabazon Trophy and numerous County Championships and Matches over the years.
