Junior Golfers

We have an active and competitive Junior Section for boys and girls aged 5 to 17, run by a dedicated team of Junior Organisers.
Our juniors are a keen and committed group and the team ethos at Clitheroe GC is clearly evident, aided by the Junior Club Captain. All juniors are made welcome, whether beginners, improvers or elite.

Our Aims And Mission Statement

Our purpose is to encourage children within the community to develop all the skills and disciplines to be successful within the sport of golf.
To provide a safe and enjoyable environment for boys and girls to acquire the knowledge of etiquette and the spirit of respect for all other golfers.
Play with confidence to the best of their ability
Encourage Juniors to play by the rules of golf
To act in a sporting manner and maintain a respect for authority

CONGRATULATIONS to our three amazing Clitheroe girls who all reached the top 16 matchplay flight in the Lancashire Women's County Championship held at Clitheroe in June, with Kallie Torgesen winning the best aggregate net prize. The best net score on Day 1 was won by our Junior Captain Gabriella Schofield . They are pictured above with President, Captain, Lady Captain and our Women in Golf Charter Champion Kirsty Field.

After relocating to the Ribble Valley in 2015. I joined Clitheroe Golf Club and almost immediately became involved in the golf clubs’s Junior Section. Becoming their safe guarding officer soon after.

I am a huge advocate and supporter of equality and fairness within the golf club. For the last few years I have not been as involved in the Junior Section but still very much involved as a volunteer now sitting on the Ladies Committee, whilst still keeping up to date with what our wonderful juniors are up to. I take pride in being dependable, empathetic, and enthusiastic—always ready to lend a hand and learn something new along the way.
